Get Your Bow Ready Before Season

The week before season is not the time to discover that your sight is loose or your serving is separating.

Inspect your bow carefully. Check strings, cables, servings, limb condition, rest hardware, sight screws, stabilizer, quiver, and anything else that can loosen or wear.

Shoot broadheads before season. Field points can tell you whether your bow is generally tuned, but broadheads are what you will actually hunt with.

Practice from realistic positions. Shoot from an elevated platform if you hunt from a tree stand. Wear the clothing you expect to hunt in and make sure nothing interferes with your draw cycle.

Check your release and keep a backup if possible. A small piece of equipment can end a hunt very quickly if it disappears or fails.

Confidence on opening day comes from knowing the setup has already been tested.
